These projects have been selected by our independent Grant Review Panel as those that will have the greatest impact in serving uninsured or underinsured women in our service area. Please note that Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is not a direct service provider.
The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic’s Pink Glory Breast Care Program provides breast cancer screenings, follow-up services, patient education, and awareness outreach to American Indian women in central Oklahoma.
The OU Breast Institute will offer free breast imaging services for women that uninsured or underinsured who do not qualify for other federal or state programs.
This programs focuses on free or low cost breast cancer screening, diagnostics and treatment as well as education for the uninsured and medically underserved in Grady County & surrounding areas.
Offers low and no-cost clinical breast exams & mammograms to women over the age of 40 and up to 185% of the federal poverty level (FPL) who are uninsured as well as providing education & transportation assistance to those who qualify.
Clinica de la Mujer Latina is a program to encourage Hispanic women to participate in health education programs and preventive screenings for breast and cervical cancer.
Breast CARE (Communication, Access and Recovery Exchange) is a comprehensive program designed to meet the unfulfilled breast health needs of women in nine counties in the Central and Western Oklahoma Affiliate’s service area.
The Women’s Outreach Center serves as the women’s educational, outreach and referral source on campus. Know Your Body, Know Yourself: Breast Health Education for Young College Students is an education program for young college women about the importance of breast health and to inform our students of the new Susan G. Komen guidelines for lifetime breast health.
Project Early Detection (PED) provides breast health services which includes breast health education, screenings, diagnostic procedures, and appropriate treatment referral for women who are uninsured and underinsured in OK County.
The Urban Breast Health Program provides culturally enhanced educational workshops, supportive services & transportation to mammogram screenings (screenings provided through a partnership with the OU Breast Institute).
The purpose of this program is to increase the number of women in Oklahoma county who receive culturally targeted educational messages, receive breast cancer screening, and access diagnostic & treatment services.
