The purpose of this program is to increase the number of women in Oklahoma county who receive culturally targeted educational messages, receive breast cancer screening, and access diagnostic & treatment services. Patient navigators are used to increase access to breast health services for the uninsured and medically underserved. Through this project, an estimated 5,000 uninsured & medically underserved women will receive culturally appropriate breast health education messages; an estimated 1,500 will have access to affordable or free breast cancer screenings; & an estimated 250 women will receive diagnostics & treatment facilitated by a patient navigator to help them access receive services.
